About me

I work as an educational technologist in a Medical School in Scotland. I am particularly interested in the use of social media in education, how these are changing (if they are!) the ways of learning and teaching and how they can affect inclusion issues. I am also interested in the use of pedagogical, sociological, psychological theories in (medical) education research.  I am interested in how existing learning theories are now finding new life while being – often in a silent way –  used, connected and elaborated in innovative ways through the use of technology.

I started this Blog for several reasons: to reflect on my research and my daily experience at work, to share opinions, to become more engaged with online communities of practice that share interests similar to mine and, last but not least, to help myself to keep up to date and focused on my work and research.
